As I listened to the latest project from singer and superb guitarist Lyman Ellerman and his album called “I Wish I was a Train”. The first track called “Bigger Plans” is outstanding, and Lyman knows his way around the guitar, the riffs are tight and focused and energetic. With the next song taking off a slower ballad of sorts the song is called “The Addict” and Lyman has a great sound & very powerfully and emotionally involved lyrics. I have noticed as I listen to Lyman he really has the gift of musicality and has a sound that is country blues I think that is what I would classify Lyman under. He is not quite country but adds a slice of blues riffs that are phenomenal and really great. The next song called “I Wish I were A Train ‘ Lyman, showcases his style and is a true music troubadour and this song has substance and meaning and I really like this sound that Lyman features on his superior guitar works throughout this miraculous music album. As I listened Lyman brings in a twist of folk music and it just shows his talent is in his writing and playing and wonderful lyrics. This song is probably one of my favorites on this amazing album. The next song called “Nobody Knows you like I Do (like I do) featuring, Jessica Dooley, where she adds perfect flavoring to this song and this is a superior example of Lymans’ pure talent. He’s got a just right mix of musicality and being able to convey this through his crafty fingers. “Ditches” has a sound that is unique and Lyman brings in his supreme lyrics once again and his strumming keeps the timing going, I really enjoy Lymans music because he is a story teller within his music and the stories usher in that sound that is honest & believable. With the next song called “Because Of You” well, now, Lyman showcases his bluesy feel to this already, what I feel will be a most welcomed album to the music world. With the next song, called “Fallin’, Lyman brings in some serious strummin’ and a hummin’ and I like it. his vocals are in the key of country but I must say it’s just a solid music album, I try not to classify the artists that I write music album reviews on, however, Lyman, fits all the music holes with his amazing melodies, especially he shows off his total musicianship and this song is a “hit” and ready for radio airplay. The next song called “Shinin’ on Elizabeth” Lyman brings in his ability to hold down a good strong ballad and this song is a really great song and as most of you know I am a real sucker for a Ballad or a love song of sorts, and this song says all that & more and is most enjoyable. “Stranger” another song that features Lymans fancy guitar picks and his really enjoyable lyrics and story telling, his ability to be “out there” in music is unbelievably good, he has a unique and refreshing sound that needs to be heard. “One More Drink” is supreme example of Lymans consistent ability to sing a song and make it sound so great, I love the acoustic guitar on this song, where Lyman is a real music man and this song showcases this is perfect style & poise. The last song on this superb album is another reason if you are into great music, this album is for you, the song is called “Here Comes Tomorrow” and Lyman really has that sound that is unique and wonderful, and needs to be heard. all in all this album deserves your time, My time listening to this wonderful album was well worth the wait to hear all the songs. In my opinion Lyman has got a sound that is radio friendly and once Lymans’ music is in your ear, you will totally agree with me on this. My finding about Lyman Ellerman, was a great find & once again if you like great & solid music, you gotta hear this guy, his name is Lyman Ellerman & the album is called “I Wish I Were A Train” and is well worth you time and it’s a total investment in great & solid music. I thank Lyman for allowing me to hear his tremendous gift of music and looking forward to hearing more of him.
