As I have written several music reviews for all the music artists that come from all different music genres. I stumbled across the music artist named Rondi Marsh with her album called “The Pink Room” where as she has a unique sound and this album is full of true music flavor. With the first track called “Flamingo” Rondi brings in her music artistry with flare & pizzaz and has a real authentic. I supremely enjoyed. Rondis music, a Jazz and pop but more kind of music. Rondi & the song “Misty” are just splendid, and Rondi and her voice for this, as I am used to hearing the Johnny Mathis version, and I realize that there have been many of artists who have covered this song, however Rondi brings a fresh and vibrant approach to this song and is quite nice. The next song Rondi brings to the surface is called “Summer Wind” and I really enjoyed her sexiness and sultriness to the song and her horn section is out of this world that keep the beat moving along. It’s always nice to hear an album that has the ability to reach out & touch you and Rondi and her vocals have that exact ability. “Boy on A Dolphin” Rondi really showcases her perfect vocals on this one, she has a very expressive vocal ability and her voice is natural and smooth, yet so articulate. As the album played I felt as if I were on an Italian shore having a coffee and enjoying the total atmosphere The next song on this true and unbelievable album is called “The Bass Song” and where Rondi brings in her approach to it, and has that awesome ability to do an almost a capella version of it and Rondi continues to amaze me throughout her wonderful and energetic style throughout this amazing sounding album. “Slow Hot Wind” a song that where Rondi takes on Mancini, and delivers utterly amazing results Rondi is a naturally gifted and has the total vocals and her smoothness and is very articulate on every song on this wonderful & tasty album. The song that arrives next on the album is called “Mambo Italiano” and Rondi really showcases the song and her voice is out of this world, from the start of the song and all the way through I felt the passion within Rondi and her amazing band. The horn section is one to die for and compliments Rondi & her magical style of tremendous vocals. “Black Trousers and Motorcycle Boots” brings in the full guns on this as the song rips through the highway and allows you to really feel the exciting movement and the added vocals of “Wanz” it adds total fun & true drama to the song. Rondi on this album proves all too much that she has a firm grip on the songs of yesteryear and as the album played on I really had my own groove on with her style and approach to each song. “Angel Eyes” yet another great song composed by Matt Dennis and lyrics written by Earl
Brent however, Rondi makes this one her own and I have noticed that on each song that Rondi sings she makes her own by putting her flavorful vocals on each & make each one feel so ever personal. As this amazing and wonderful collection of songs from the songbook of standards and others Rondi is really and truly a passionate lovely vocalist and with this song that Rondi has written herself called “Walk On Over” Rondi really has that consistent sound that brings in my visions of what if I were alive in the days of this wonderful music was being presented. The last song on this wonderful & extremely well sung and produced is appropriately called “Last Call” and Rondi brings in the sensual side of her vocal range and is a really smooth and refined sound and is a real and amazing and a feel of realness of the singer songwriters of this wonderful era of music. All in all this is a wonderful example of how yesterdays music is still so incredibly awesome, and with a truly music artist Miss Rondi Marsh who brought these songs to life through her tremendous passion & love for them, kept in my head. All in all what a truly amazing and wonderful music representation and a phenomenal and passionate lady who brings her true & passionate love for these songs and allowed them to gracefully fill my head with those wonderful memories. Thank you Rondi for allowing me to hear & relive these wonderful songs and your true gift of musicianship and your wonderful friendship & looking forward to actually seeing you perform these songs & more in a live appearance.
