“TOTAL RELEVANCY”

Total relevance, this is how I can describe to you about the most recent album from the legendary music band named Frijid Pink. The album is called “On The Edge” and Many of you may remember the song called “House of the Rising Sun” and many of you probably put your musical hats on and say oh, yes Animals right? wrong, the group Frijid Pink is actually the writers of this wonderful piece of American rock & roll history. After a couple of spins and conversations with original member of this legendary musician, Rick Stevers shows his magic once again in a tremendous and totally relevant album called “On The Edge” and what a superb album. I have had the pure honor to speak with Rick about this wonderful album and this is where us the rock & rollers need to dust off the record players and place this masterful and magnificent album and track this baby all the way through. The first track called “Adrenaline” rocks, and knocks your speakers off the wall. Rick & the band sound so clear and precise and give your ears a dose of good old rock and roll and the song makes your mind think how much talent is involved in this true American band, called Frijid Pink. My ears remained open and willing to really listen to the music, and this album is pure and straight out the pages of rock and roll and has the true elements of a amazing music band.  The next song is amazingly awesome as well the guitar and all the elements of rock and roll are present and accounted for, the lyrics are clear and vivid and have and bring total clarity and vision. The band has an element of a bluesy kind of feel to it on this song and the rhythm section is on to die for. It’s an amazing album that will truly stand the test of time and they are as relevant today as they were in 1970 with their totally grab out and get you sounds. The band from Detroit where soul was born bring this element into their wonderful and well worth your time music. As I listened the next track called ” Mellenium Man” the rock continues and holds onto your ears and shows know sign of leaving, the song has a certain feel that made my mind stay in the true rock and roll frame of mind. “Fire in your Heart” has a sound that is catchy & addictive and makes you feel the essence of a true band sound where all the elements playing throughout and makes you recollect the sounds of what a true honest rock & roll band feels like. The Keyboards are superb and with the use of Hammond B 3, one can’t go wrong, they always add that element of rock and roll. With the next song called “Dreams Come True” the band rings in that almost Motownish feel to it, once again my mind went to where a band was a band and all elements come together to make the complete sound and project this to us as listeners. As a Detroit based band Frijid Pink bring in that soul and bluesy feeling on a track called “Sugar Daddy” and the lyrics and musicality shines throughout, and is a brilliant beacon of hope that there is true American music out there. I personally don’t listen to the radio as much, but when this has happened I have noticed that all that is being played sounds all the same, I describe to others as a “Card cut out” bands and the so called musicians, not to say there isn’t anyone that has a good sound, however with this being said there is a whole lot more music out there and Frijid Pink is one of them that needs to be heard, not only for their legendary status, but for the true and amazing talent that they provide, and have for many years and to know that they are still recording brings my heart happiness. “Camp Fire Light” is another bluesy feeling song that has a heavier feel to it and has that sound that I needed to hear that provides my ears with a dose of rock and roll. “Full Moon” showcases the band and introduces the horn section and is so vividly clear to make you recognize the magic that is truly within the band Frijid Pink. The next song is called “Tell Me True” and once again Frijid Pink steps up their already awesome game of musicality and has that real rock and roll feel to it and it’s so great to know that they don’t have that artificial sound that many music artists of today share, they stand alone in their sound, where a band is a band and shows the complexity and diversity of their superb sound. “Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow another song that has an song that is magical and a true fresh approach to music and is a beautiful and harmonic ballad that is truly a trademark of all bands that I am accustomed to hearing. Most bands that I’ve listened to over the last 30 years bring in this element and Frijid Pink place their magical style on it. “The Traveler” is another rock and roll and just has a groovy feel to it and allows you to recognize their pure talent within the band. The Chemistry in the band is evident in every song on this album, this is ever so present with the song called “Ride” it’s another fine example of total musicality and the Frijid Pink has this totally and if you’ve lost touch on the music scene, this is one band that you need to dust off the record player and sit down with your favorite beverage and listen again. I personally tracked this album all the way through a minimum of 12 times and I fell in love with it more and more every time I gave it a spin. “Shine” is another song on this wonderful and amazing album that features what a true rock and roll record should feel like, it has the feel of iconic rock & roll, however is a total relevant sound that simply put, one hell of a “FU&*&ING” and masterful rock and roll album that is out there and yours for the taking and needs to be part of your everyday listening time. “Gone Log Gone” has that again rock and roll sound that once was a part of our lives, and we somehow got away from and adopted what we define as music today? Every generation of music fans has their preferences, however this band called “Frijid Pink” is band that does and will bring your ears to that place where rock & roll really is. As I listened to this album several times I know where my heart lies it’s between my pillow and the proverbial rock & roll and with the sounds of the extremely talented and magical band Frijid Pink in the backround playing makes it all worthwhile knowing why I originally sold my soul to rock and roll. As a fan for a long time and now even more so knowing that they are still out there makes me smile and knowing that their music is within my reach. I thank Rick Stevers for his eternal friendship and all that he represents to us with his magical and ever so present sound of rock & roll that’s here and hasn’t gone away, and won’t with his and the group Frijid Pink will keep it current and fresh in our ears. The album is one that is phenomenal and is a fine example what is happening in the true rock and roll world that so many of us are looking for, I personally have found that is alive and well with the continuing contributions from the amazing and purely magical and legendary band that is called Frijid Pink.

I have a very extensive broadcasting & music back round. With over 30 years experience. I have been nominated for several writing awards (ie) publicist and promoter of the year also, one of the industries most revered music reviewers. I started a writing career, with the idea bringing notice to the industry all music artists, focusing on Indie artists, and many mainstream artists as well. Writing about individuals, from all around the globe, all music genres and remaining consistent with my slogan of "Hearing is Believing", and "All Music Matters and bringing out the "positive" in all artists no matter how small, big or different. I feel all need to be given that chance to be noticed for their talents and allow others to hear, and noticed for their talent. As of date I have written well over 400 music album reviews and continue to acquire more everyday. Some legends, some independent artists. My continuing wish is they get the to share the stage lights within the industry. With making a difference with my "Positive " music reviews through my writing style, about them & for them and reviewing their music always in a "Positive" forum.
